National Susan G. Komen spokesperson Sheri Phillips says this year's event was the non-profit's seventh success in the Tampa Bay area. "We are so thankful for Tampa Bay's continued support of our mission to end breast cancer," she said.
Participants in the race spent the weekend walking 60 miles before ending their trek with a closing ceremony at Spa Beach Park in St. Petersburg.
Since its inception, the 3-Day for the Cure has raised nearly $600 million. Phillips says the event will return to the Tampa Bay area next year on October 26-28. For more information or to register, visit The3Day.org.
