Brooksville, Florida -- Police have arrested a man they say made bomb and death threats to Hernando County Animal Services employees.
During their investigation, detectives recovered information and documentation that Peter Dalessandro, of Riverview, had made similar threats over the phone in the past. The latest threat was made on April 20.
Dalessandro, 52, was arrested Wednesday and has been charged with six counts of threatening to place/discharge a destructive device and five counts of assault.
The Hernando animal shelter has come under fire over the past few days, after they euthanized a dog named Zeus 45 minutes after the animal was dropped off.
On Wednesday, the Hernando County Commission agreed to investigate Zeus' death.
