NEW YORK (AP) - "Dancing With the Stars" and "The Voice" are the most popular prime-time shows on their networks. Last week illustrated how they have very different audiences.

The Nielsen Co. says ABC's "Dancing" had 16.2 million viewers, good enough for third place in the weekly program listing. NBC's "The Voice" was seen by 9.5 million, rated No. 20.

Nearly three-quarters of the "Dancing" audience is age 50 or older, with a median age of nearly 61. "The Voice" is much younger, with a median age of just under 46. For television advertisers, younger is considered better.

"The Voice" has gained viewers in its second season, but it lost some of the momentum it had gathered by debuting after the Super Bowl.
